The Unitarian Universalist Church of the North Hills is in search of a qualified Office Administrator for a part-time position. This is an administrative assistant position that is responsible for the functioning of the church office needs and provides administrative support to the UUCNH staff, church programs, committees, and members.

32 hours per week- Monday-Friday
$ 15 per hour + health benefits

Short-term disability, life insurance and 401K after one year


•2 or more years administrative assistant experience

•Excellent people skills, including pleasant phone manner, cordiality, and appreciation of, and comfort with our diverse membership

•Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail

•Familiarity with office equipment

•Patience and kindness



•Inter-office communication skills

•Written and verbal fluency in the English language and editing skills

•Ability to maintain detail orientation while working in an active environment (multi-tasking) is essential

•Computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 or higher

•Adobe products, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro a plus

•Ability to be discreet with confidential information

•Must be comfortable with a sometimes active working environment

•WordPress experience a plus, but will train

•Constant Contact experience a plus


•Provide administrative support to the Minister, Director of Life Span Development, Music Director and committee chairs.

•Maintain church calendar via Google calendar, schedule facilities use by church groups and others. For outside rentals, coordinate with the Facilities Coordinator

•Produce the weekly Sunday Order of Service and related material

•Work with the minister to prioritize office work

•Produce the weekly “e-news” newsletter and distribute electronically via Constant Contact

•Provide support for church publication including the monthly newsletter, the “Intercom”

•Update and maintain the church website

•Prepare visitor letters

•Create name tags when requested

•Email communications

•Occasional project work such as gathering and assembling reports to produce the church Annual Report

•Order and maintain supplies for the church office and church cleaning supplies

•Answer church phone and respond to requests for information about UUCNH or direct to appropriate person

•Responsible for retrieving, distributing, and sending out mail

•Coordinate with the Facilities Rental volunteer to field initial inquires, show the building, receive payment, scan and file rental paperwork

•Greet visitors
