Job Description
In this role, youll be responsible for implementing, securing, and maintaining the workstation and Citrix infrastructure for a large federal client Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV. This opportunity requires a candidate that can work effectively independently as well as in a group setting. The position will routinely interact with other key IT disciplines including Service Desk, Desktop Support, Networking, Server, and Cyber Security.
* Serve as the senior member of the Client Systems Engineering Team * Implement and perform administration of Citrix Presentation Server XenApp, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) infrastructure
* Install and maintain Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manger (SCCM) enterprise desktop management infrastructure
* Develop, deploy, and manage Windows 7 and Windows 10 corporate operating system images using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Windows PE, and Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) * Implement and maintain a secure desktop operating environment configuration using Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPO)
* Implement and maintain a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment using Citrix XenDesktop, VMware View, or similar technology
* Automate application and patch installation using packaging and scripting technologies including PowerShell, VBScript, Command Line, Installshield, and MSI
* Provide timely diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution to escalated user incidents to comply with Service Level Agreement targets
* Comply with existing change management and security requirements to properly authorize and document work
* Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, physical and logical network diagrams, policies, procedures, user guides, status reports, and other documents, as required
* Leverage the use of industry standard IT Service Management approaches such as ITIL, CMMI, ISO, HDI, etc as a basis of enhancing services provided by the Client Systems Engineering team
* Routinely analyze the computing environment and make recommendations for improving the environment * Ensure the availability of enterprise computing environments through daily, preventive, and remedial maintenance
* Install, configure, and maintain desktop/server hardware, operating systems, applications, and supporting peripherals
What You Need:
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in performing business:quality desktop engineering and support for a large user base or 6 years with a bachelors degree or 4 years with a masters degree
* Industry standard certifications (e.g. MCSE, Citrix, etc) are preferred.
* Microsoft Desktop (Windows 7/8/10) and Windows Server (Windows 2008/2012/2016) operating system deployment and Active Directory experience is required
* Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Citrix Presentation Server XenApp, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator experience is required. * Experience in using PowerShell, VBScript, DOS batch, Installshield, and MSI scripting languages to automate the deployment of update packages and applications is necessary.
* Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technology such as Citrix XenDesktop or VMware View is strongly preferred.
* Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and 802.1x authentication is a plus * Must possess a proven ability to research, design, and implement technical solutions in an enterprise IT organization
* Must excel at solving technical problems and be able to work with minimal supervision to research, develop, and implement technical solutions * Proven ability in building, testing, updating, and deploying Windows operating systems in a large professional, business environment is essential.
