Description of duties and responsibilities: MSA is looking for a positive and energetic associate with expertise in HR policies and procedures, benefits administration and payroll administration. Do you have a strong customer focus? You will be responsible for providing best in class HR customer service to all U.S. associates/participants while continuously improving the quality and timeliness of service. You will also be responsible for the day:to:day operations of one or more HR/benefits programs. Be part of a talented group of professionals in a team environment, reporting to the People Center Manager. If you have what it takes, you may be the right person to join the MSA People Center.Act as first line of contact for all incoming HR/benefit/payroll inquiries. Using available resources, research inquiries and collaborate with other functions (as needed) to resolve a wide range of issues. Maintain communication with customer regarding progress of their inquiry.Document details of issue description, investigation and resolution in HR Issues Database.Coach other HR functions on requirements for initiating changes within HR/payroll system (e.g. employment changes, pay changes, organizational changes, etc.)Update all employee master data in HR/payroll system, including research of technical warnings/errors.Coach customers on HR, benefits, and payroll policies and procedures.Review all benefit change requests for plan compliance, including follow:up on all required documentation to support the qualified change.Generate correspondence related to benefit plan operations, including conversion letters.Manage programs such as the Education Assistance Program, which includes securing promissory notes upon entry into the program, determining reimbursement amounts, and reconciling budget periodically.Manage processes such as the benefits billing process for active and inactive participants. This includes generating invoices, processing payments, and terminating coverage upon municate with participants regarding various areas of MSA Group Life Insurance Program. This includes reviewing changes in beneficiary designations, providing verification to external agencies, and supporting families on submitting death claims.Review and submit changes impacting the monthly pension benefit (tax changes, direct deposit, medical premiums, etc.)Participate as a team member during all system implementations and upgrades, including developing test plans, documenting test results, and tracking outstanding issues.Support organization during all corporate initiatives (e.g. acquisitions, divestitures, payroll integrations, etc.). This includes customer support, process review and integration, and data integration.Maintain current process documentation, with a focus on continuous plete additional projects and special assignments as determined by the People Center Manager.Travel (1:10) required. Special knowledge, skills and abilities required: Excellent customer focus with outstanding follow through and response.Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, including ability to communicate with associates at all levels.Strong organizational and time management skills.Proven ability to handle stress and multi:task in a high:paced environment.Proven ability to develop, evaluate and update processes for continuous improvement and increased productivity.Strong attention to detail, striving for the highest level of accuracyProcess management, problem solving and analytical skills.Proficient with Microsoft Word, including creating general correspondence, merges, and administrative manuals.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including applying formulas, filters, graphs, and pivot tables.Team OrientationPreferred:Working knowledge of specific Benefit/HR programs and/or systems, including researching a wide variety of issues for rapid resolution.Experience with SAP HR Module/Lotus Notes.Education and experience required:High school diploma or eq
