Job Summary

Carnegie Mellon University's Center of Career Opportunities within Tepper is searching for an Associate Director with a focus on consulting and strategy careers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support in counseling and developing career programs that address the unique needs of graduate students.

Core responsibilities will include:

* Provide individual and group career counseling to students and alumni by assisting them in assessing their career goals, formulating job search strategies, developing resumes and practicing interview skills.

* Design and deliver various workshops and panels, markets COC services to all constituents.

* Sharing relevant knowledge and experience in Consulting with MBA students interested in pursuing careers in the field.

* Responsibility for multiple departmental activities which can include several of the following:

* Serving on teams that develop the COC's Career Education or Website strategies;

* Selecting and implementing various software packages;

* Creating periodic newsletters for students concerning COC programs;

* Coordinating the employer relations outreach events;

* Developing and scheduling appropriate workshops, and orientation programs;

* Managing and reporting student employment information and statistics;

* Assisting with the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of staff; and

* Monitoring, tracking and forecasting departmental budgetary issues.

* Cultivate new, and manage existing, relationships with employers and alumni for the development of full time and internship job opportunities through direct correspondence, membership in professional organizations, attendance at conferences and employer site visits.

* Assist in the coordination of on-campus recruiting and assists employers as requested.

You should have strong problem-solving, analytical and reasoning skills, as well an ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. Qualifications

* Master's degree in business or related field highly desired.

* Minimum five years of experience in management or strategic consulting, along with career counseling or coaching experience required.
