Job Title:
Head Coach

Job Reports to:
The Executive Board

Primary Function:
To oversee all aspects of Steel City Rowing ClubÕs rowing programs, including development, recruitment of athletes, and management of Support Coaching staff, adhere to the institutionÕs high standards of athletic excellence, and ensure the safety of all rowers and equipment both on-site and while traveling for competition.

Relationships:
The post holder is responsible to the President of the Executive Board or designee, in dialogue with the Program Director, Office Manager, Assistant Coaching Staff members, and Boatman.

Specific Duties:
-Maintain written record of all team practices, race entries, and coaching protocol
-Coach all abilities of pupils
-Knowledge of athlete development and leadership as a mentor
-Work with Program Director to research and organize competitions, regattas, and scrimmage entries
-Relay accommodation, vehicle rental, and other travel needs for competitions, scrimmages, and conferences to Program Director
-Ensure all USRowing Safety and Steel City Rowing Club guidelines are understood by all athletes and enforced by appropriate on-site staff members.Manage the day-to-day and long-term equipment budget, in collaboration with the Executive Board, Program Director, and Finance Manager
-Ensure safe transportation athletes and equipment
-Attend club races, regattas and scrimmages
-Foster a program of inclusiveness

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or equivalent (preferred)
USRowing Level 3 Certification (preferred)
Up-do-date child-abuse and safety clearances
PA Boat and Fish Commission Certification

Commensurate with experience
