Hatch has ambitious growth plans for the USA and we are looking for a Human Resources Director, based in Pittsburgh, to advise and support the people side of this growth strategy. Reporting to the Global Director, Human Resources, you will lead a small HR team today and build over time to support the growing business across the USA. Your areas of focus will be:
:
Developing a resourcing and talent plan for the USA, then helping to execute that resourcing plan through a combination of internal Hatch transfers and external recruitment.
:
Supporting regional business leaders with HR services and advice that optimizes business performance. Examples would include organization design, compensation, performance management, career development and recruitment, to name a few.
:
Executing national and global HR programs within the region, which includes the annual salary review process, career development and performance management.
:
Supporting regional projects, which would include recruiting, mobilizing staff to construction sites, advising on people decisions related to projects, and managing demobilization and transition to new projects.
:
Coaching managers in the areas of diversity, selection, giving and receiving feedback, talent development, employment issues, team development, etc.
:
Increasing the capacity and added value of the regional HR team to support future business growth.
:
Playing an active role as a member of the global HR leadership team, contributing to strategy development and leading national initiatives where appropriate.
Qualifications required for this role include:
:
A Bachelor's Degree specializing in Human Resources Management or a related discipline;
:
At least 15 years' experience as an HR professional in a knowledge:intensive workplace, at least 5 years of which in a leadership position. Preference for candidates who have experience working in Engineering Consulting, or at least Professional Services environment;
:
Experience leading staff and providing HR services across the USA;
:
Experience working for a multinational organization preferred;
:
Strong generalist skillset, especially recruitment/selection, career development, compensation, employment law;
:
Strong business acumen and a thorough understanding of a project driven business;
:
Strong decision making ability using a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment, and common sense;
:
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and maintain trust and confidence with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally;
:
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written;
:
The successful candidate should be prepared for several days per month of travel throughout the USA and to Canada.
