Looking for other guys who play ( and love) the traditional New Orleans/dixieland and/or swing era up to West Coast - jazz, standards or both - guys forming a group or needing a replacement. Have soprano, alto, C-melody, tenor and bari horns - regular, alto and bass clarinets - and an electronic woodwind of my own design. Strong improvisor. Love dueting and backing up a sultry vocalist.
It has to be fun. Hey, guys - there's country and rock players under every rock - and they're bringing in more rocks - but guys like us are getting few and far between! • Location: Tarentum

Press Release:
ANNAMERCURY Marinated together in early 2009 as the 5 member band like blending choice seasoned spices in a culinary treasure to create rock music for the world. Although, initially each member helms from different corners of the west region of the United States. They met and formed the band while living in Seattle, WA after a consistent time of artistically crossing paths. The underlining unspoken message the men want to say with their music is: “From the basement, to all the listening and visual audiences everywhere this is for you”. “AM” (AnnAMercury) is comprised of Brady singing lead vocals, Jeff playing drums, Robin strumming the bass, with guitars being laced by both Pete and Ryan. All five share a mutual inner passion for music and a quiet determination to be as good as they possibly can be. The music that the band chooses to create is original in nature with a savory rock-n-roll flavor. And each member contributes by drawing on their own musical backgrounds in a combination of ways to make the songs happen. After only seven months in the making the band is currently working on finishing its first songs to be recorded as an EP late summer in the legendary London Bridge Studio. Also, be sure to look for the band to begin their live public performances this coming November 2009 with much fanfare debut. EP release date is scheduled for November 15th 2009...You don't want to miss it! Checkout and follow the band at: (www.myspace.com/annamercurylive) & (www.reverbnation.com/annamercury) Thank you, ANNAMERCURY In association with MATCH 1 Entertainment ***SPECIAL BONUS: Download new songs from the EP release available at Amazon on 11/15/09 (www.amazon.com) • Location: SEATTLE, WA

Keyboard player wanted (Classic Rock / New Wave)posted: November 3, 2009, 01:26 PM

Classic Rock / New Wave cover band in Edgewood looking to add keys. We're looking for someone to add electric piano, organ & 80's-style synths. Ideally you'll be adding backup vocals. We trade lead vocals around, so there's opportunity to sing lead as well. We're just rebuilding our band member lineup (2 guitars, bass & drums) and the setlist is pretty flexible, so it's a great time to join.
We're in this for fun. We all have day jobs and are looking to play live in the Pittsburgh area. Not interested in travel / touring. You must be dependable, have decent gear, willing to learn material and be prepared for rehearsal - no drugs. We rehearse once a week - usually Monday nights from 7pm to 10pm in Edgewood - and more frequently as gigs approach and schedules allow. Our age range is 30's to 50's, though we don't care how old you are if you don't care how old we are. • Location: Edgewood - East PGH

jeff beck -type guitar player specializing in leads and creative blues riffs looking to find some latin bass/drummers to jam with to get a feel for it.
i am part venezuellan but have always played hard rock and dirty blues so i want to branch out and play over latin beats and styles as well as perhaps some hip-hop/ rap/ funk lead improvising over noisy efx and heavily sampled grooves....driving bass and killer percussion .. (either live drums or drum machine programs). my guitarwork includes tremelo/whammy bar dives...lots of soulful bends and ripped up frantic tempo stuff that cries out for jimi hendrix style wailing. contact : joe 412 916 -1723 hazebuddha@yahoo.com • Location: eastern suburbs

Think the 5 man acoustical jam from Tesla. I am looking to start a 4 or 5 piece acoustical group. Positions will be : lead guitar, rhythm guitar(2), bass, possible a second lead to make 5 people. Everyone must be able to carry a tune singing. One of us needs to be the lead singer. Sure as &^%$* won't be me. A bit about me. I graduated from WVU in the school of music in '95. I am a drummer by trade, but love the guitar as well. I see this group being one of those groups that practice once a week and just enjoy life and gigs. The music i hear is playing is rock and pop... covers.... and maybe some original arrangements of covers....originals will be secondary to the cover tunes. I have a ton of opportunities for a group like this to gig... from bars and clubs to regional events and private shows. If any of this sounds interesting to you, give me a shout at roby@rtlstudios.com.
Hope to hear from you soon, Rob • Location: South Hills

Remember when music used to be about making music? So do we. We are putting a band together that will hopefully cross genres between metal/goth/indie/atmospheric...whatever.
Must be willing to get together at least once or twice a week. age 21 to 40ish It is important to have a wide range of influences. I don't mean "everything from Rush to Skynyrd". Literally a 'wide range' of influences...like everything from Radiohead to Testament or J.S. Bach to Neil Young. In other words, please be able to play well and utilize most of the strings and frets on the bass. Please be for real and motivated to work as a team to create some great music. we've got some short audio clips of some jams we did off the cuff here: http://www.myspace.com/herdpoison the name is just a user name. we haven't actually fully agreed on the name for the band yet the bass line on these clips were overdubbed later on by the guitarist. full 16 channel recording capabilities. Nice space to practice. Cubase 5. Mac Pro. PA, amps, drums, keys...ready to go...we just need YOU. • Location: Turtle Creek

Could you come up with the correct notes to F MIXOLYDIAN instantly?posted: October 12, 2009, 11:31 AM

Yes you could! Even if you do not know a bit of music theory I can show you how to play each of the seven modes of the major scale in any key in just minutes. I have developed a way to give instant access to any mode using my primary scale. This is moved up or down the neck of the guitar or bass by just counting the frets. I have been soloing this way for over twenty-three years. There is no learning music theory; in fact it just goes around music theory completely. There is no memorizing note names, or needing to reading music. Need F# AEOLIAN? No problem. How about Eb LOCRIAN? You have it right now! You will have the right notes before the piano player can remember them! I can show you for ten dollars, and I will pay the postage. Write for part of the method, free. I can prove its not a scam.
http://www.modesmethod.mysite.com/cgi-bin/blog From Modes Method users: I really like your method, its nice and simple.--Brandon Just got the info. this looks to be well worth the money and great for you to take the time to show your secrets, I have been playing for 20 years and still learning., this will help !!! --Danny Aha! I have always thought that such a method existed, since the guitar allows the use of repetitive fingering patterns, and the counting of frets idea is fantastic!--Carlos |
